Additional Historical Information
Aircraft has been involved in a protracted legal dispute that began on 26-Jul-2006. On that date, the aircraft was sold via a 124 month promissory note to Philippe Tanguy for $1,237,500.
On 12-Jun-2007 13500 Air Express filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy (liquidation) and the promissory note became part of the bankruptcy estate. In Jul-2007, one of the 13500 Air Express creditors filed suit that the aircraft had been fraudulently conveyed to Philippe Tanguy. By Aug-2007 a restraining order had been issued preventing the aircraft from being flown, or moved from its location at Waller, TX. Payments by Philippe Tanguy lapsed in Nov-2008, all the while the aircraft continued to be flown through Aug-2009, two years after the restraining order was issued.
In Aug-2009 the aircraft was appraised/valuated by National Aerotech. It was determined that the aircraft had none of the required maintenance or flight logs, and accordingly was appraised at $250,000, the scrap value. National Aerotech further testified that even with the required log books, approximately $300,000 would be necessary to make the aircraft airworthy. It was now definitively grounded at Waller, TX.
Aircraft was moved to the National Aerotech facility at Hampton, GA by 20-Jun-2011 and has remained there since, in non flyable condition. It was subsequently transported to Thomaston, GA when National Aerotech transferred operations there from Hampton. In Jan-2015 the aircraft was placed under Lien by National Aerotech for parts/labor and storage.
