Additional Historical Information

12-Mar-1985 - Crashed while executing a missed approach at a temporary winter airstrip at Barter Island, AK following a flight from Prudhoe Bay. The weather conditions at the time were marginal, there was a significant build up of wing ice and the de-ice boots were not activated.

Wreckage acquired by Newcal Aviation and noted at their facility in New Jersey 06-Aug-1998 and 12-Oct-2000. Registration expired 06-Oct-1990 and was cancelled 04-Aug-2011 on export to Canada. Registered to Viking Air Ltd. 08-Aug-2011 as C-FLVT and incomplete rebuild project sold to Rocky Mountain Aircraft in 2022.

Of note, the aircraft had been on the ground for over 38 years prior to the completion of the rebuilding.
