26-Mar-1973 - Lost control and crashed immediately after take-off from Champaign-Willard University Airport, IL while en route Savoy - Champaign - Chicago. Subsequent investigation determined that the take-off from attempted with the gust locks still engaged.
Additional Historical Notes:
Although reportedly leased to Transportes Aéreos Terrestres and registered in Mexico as XA-TUQ between Apr-1969 and Jul-1970, and leased to Air Central beginning in Jul-1970, there are date conflicts arising from the following reported sightings:
1) Noted at Marana, AZ 01-Nov-1969 as N7705 in full Intermountain c/s. 2) Noted at Marana, AZ 29-Mar-1971 as N7705 in full Intermountain c/s. 3) There is photographic evidence however that it did carry XA-TUQ at some point.
